This lovely leaf tile has been hand rolled and cut from a special clay blend i mix in house. After smoothing out the edges, i brush on a thin layer of a white clay slip, let it set a minute, and then carefully press in a real leaf plucked from the mountain. Once the leaf has been thoroughly sealed in place i overlay a contrasting red slip, and then peel the leaf off once dry. After a careful drying and bisque firing, i rub an oxide into the leaf pattern, and apply a hand made celadon glaze and glaze fire to over 2350f. 
 
This whole process yields a beautifully organic contrast, and a very sturdy tile. It is perfect for mounting as an accent in a kitchen or mantle, or simply displaying on a shelf or table as a unique conversation piece
* please note! My tiles are hand struck in the old time way instead of the dry pressing used for commercial tiles... they are still vary much hand made, and thus may have a little more eccentricity than factory made tile. i institute strict quality controls which reject any which have warped outside of standards... but small eccentricities are perfectly normal
