This lovely bead pendant is based on historical gorgets worn in many cultures throughout history. They where typically worn as status symbols, but also played a role in protecting the throat. While large gorgets where more practical, smaller ones are believed to be more amulet like, protective in a more magickal sense.
This bead has been made by hand from start to finish, being made from hand dug and processed wild clay shaped and patterned freehand to result in a completely unique and one of a kind pendant. Though it is large, it has been formed as a hollow pinched form to be light enough for comfortable wearing. It has been fired to over 2350f so it is extra durable, and is strung on a sturdy synthetic cord with adjustable sliding knots so it may be worn at any length you wish.
