A saddle flask is a traditional  folk form characterized as a generally small jug form that has been paddled flat on both sides, such forms where more easily transported in a saddle bag.
This piece has been hand made from wild local stoneware clay, featuring a happy little snake which is entirely sculpted by hand, and completely unique. This piece features double inscriptions on both paddled faces, "snake oil 100%" on one side, and "tells you you're sick, sells you on a cure" on the other. With the quantity of snake oil nonsense in the world, seems sensible to have a little receptacle to keep it in
