This jug is an embodiment of a traditional southern folk form.... but with a modern little twist. I enjoy having fun with making the old new, and doing a new thing the old fashioned way. 
It has been hand turned using local stoneware clay which i dig and process by hand. I have carefully sculpted, applied, and detailed such a friendly little snake, and added a cheeky little inscription inspired by a popular meme (if you know, you know). The whole thing has been coated with a traditional catawba valley alkaline glaze made from wood ash, stone dust, clay, and ground glass, and wood fired to over 2350f in an old fashioned "groundhog" kiln.
