a good sturdy mug, something most of us use, need, and cherish. This form is based on the best elements of late medieval examples to provide a very comfortable and practical drinking experience. This mug has the extra decorative flair of an applied "sprig" medallion, pressed with a hand carved stamp, in the form of a "solomans knot" motif. The solomans knot is a very widespread symbol dating atleast as far back as the roman era, being found in temples, villa mosaic, cathedrals, and as far flung as east asia and central africa
Like all of my work, it is hand made from local wild stoneware clay which i dig and process by hand. Though it is humble, it is made with great care, and features a snake tail motif at the handle tail. I have coated it with a glaze made from wood ash, clay,  and stone dust, and fired to over 2350 yielding a durable and totally food safe vessel that will last for generations with proper love and care
